    It’s similar to image buffer errors. It’s because you have no ram. You can pre-render out the elements then add dof later.

    I’m as confused as you are. All the documentation to classic color burn has been deleted. I checked every reference and even going all the way back to 1.3, the stuff is gone.
    But if you are smart with math, you can derive the classic burn by

    “color burn retains the shadow whereas the shadows disappear with classic color burn.” so the formula is almost exactly the same, just the blacks get ignored.

    7.2 is the chapter in the index pdf btw

    hmm I’m a little stumped, the formulas are the same. I’ll get back to you, I believe you have to go back farther into an older reference. I’ll see if the formula changes

    1. you can custom decimate the extra 4th frame then reconstitute a
    new pattern using virtualdub’s decimate feature,

    2. enable time remapping then use this expression to remove every bad frame. This one is set at removing every 13th frame. I don’t know what your length from one bad frame to the next is, so edit f/12.

    f = timeToFrames();
    n = Math.floor(f/12);
    framesToTime(n+f);

    then simply put it in a new comp or re-render out and re-interpret it in AE again tweaking timestretch, compressor, twixtor, timewarp, for furthur use if desired.

    Don’t forget to remove the pulldown(if you have any, you haven’t specified) before editing or the cadence will be broken and then you’ll have to use compressor to fix broken cadences, which takes even more time.

    If you can get that out of the way, then it won’t matter if you edit or timestretch in any particular order. And yes, 119.88% is going to slow down the audio a lot.

    I recommend an audio ram preview to see if it bothers you. You simply can’t change speed of the video, without the audio stretch too, without losing lip sync. If it drives you bonkers, there’s frame blending as an option too.

    And if the pitch bothers you but the speed is ok, then use adobe audition or protools or something that can change speed but maintain pitch.

    OR find someone who has a cryex supercomputer, like James Cameron did for Avatar’s 3-d rendering for the infamous compressor software…

  • Dan, in the expressions forum, has lots of free expressions of markers and audio keyframes triggering stuff. you can simply put that into a script to add the audio tracks in. if it’s too tricky for you, you can hire people to write custom scripts which would be cheaper than buying a plugin, if one existed, anyway.

    the only one you can buy that is 99.999% original quality after de-interlacing, imho is topaz enhance deinterlacer.
    algolith used to sell a ae plugin bout 6 years ago but now only sell hardware solutions:/

    did you pre-render anything? and you might have overlooked something in a huge project such as that. every single comp has to be fixed, use a comp setter script and see where the bug is.

    all dvd’s have interlaced footage, and most have 3:2 pulldown. If you step through it frame by frame, you’ll probably see duplicate frames. After the reverse pulldown, your effective framerate is what the original video looks like. Now if your footage is simply 29.97i, then you’ll have
    29.97 to 25
    119.88%
    drag footage into new comp icon, right click timestretch 119.88
    now when you place it as a precomp in new 25 fps comp, it won’t be laggy but it will be slower.

    Also, for your optical flow software speed problem, Timewarp can go a lot faster, and twixtor is 10x faster with the new upgrade and you won’t have speed or audio pitch problems. Just something to think about for the future.

    and I’m curious, did the compressor make artifacts or jerkyness? I’ve never used it before…
