Only if its Quicktime h.264. Basically if it isn’t greyed out for that particular codec, its supported.
Unfortunately, the list is quite limited.
if you want to expand to other unsupported codecs, you’ll need a tool that injects xmp metadata into containers.

at the top of premiere, sequence, sequence settings. then video previews.(click on your active sequence to un-grey it)

yes, work in that and just set media encoder to progressive when ready to render. and make sure clip is interpreted correctly as well under modify-interpret footage.

it could be the alpha matte in modify-interpret footage alpha matte premultiplied/straight

if anyone is curious, I found the cross-post and am posting the solution.
“You have a 4K timeline with a SD preview codec. Drag a clip into the New Item icon at the bottom of the project window to get a proper settings. Then copy old content and past this in the new sequence.”

i hear you, it looks good in premiere’s monitor, but pixelated upon render. That is why we need to isolate your render settings. and a png trillions(16bit) will remove any questions about compression and 8 bit output at the same time.
Can you post a screenshot of your media encoder settings, file-export media

great find! although as it doesn’t explicitly say that windows users will be able to export prores and png video codec, I have my fingers crossed!

1. right click-interpret modify clip field order conform to upperfield
2. in sequence setting, video fields upper field.
3. in media encoder upper fields(keeping interlacing for future) or progressive(youtube)
