  • Video clips show up in timeline but not in viewer

I have a project that was uploaded to Premiere through XtoCC from Final Cut Pro X. The project successfully transferred but although we can see the images in the timeline, they don’t show up in the viewer. They also play in the program monitor when selected from the media bin but not in the reference monitor.

We tried exporting but they export with no video, only audio. Please help!

what is the media type? does any other different media display the same problem?

do they work if you transcode with prelude to prores/dnxHd/Cineform before importing?

Most of the media was originally in AVCHD and FCPX transcoded it to ProRes. The are movs.

I also have subtitles and credits and those are fine. We can actually hear the footage no problem. We just can’t see it.

check your wrench for composite video. each monitor keeps its own settings for video output.

    Solution:

if anyone is curious, I found the cross-post and am posting the solution.

“You have a 4K timeline with a SD preview codec. Drag a clip into the New Item icon at the bottom of the project window to get a proper settings. Then copy old content and past this in the new sequence.”
