Thanks for the advice Chris. I am trying to determine the correct point to actually make the switch. I think saving up 6 months worth of living expenses will be part of that. No, I wont be able to live off what I am making in Freelance right now(I am about a third of the way there). I guess the biggest holdup for me right now is time. I often don’t have enough free time with my full time job to take on all the other projects I would like. Sometimes I feel like If I could get outta there, I would be able to focus on bringing in clients.
The types of clients I am trying to focus on are larger clients that have an ongoing need for regular work.

September 21, 2012 at 5:49 pm in reply to: What is the best way to edit 60i and 24P (not 24PF) together?I agree with Dennis, and I generally edit in a sequence based on what the majority of my footage is or what my output is going to be. If it were me I would go with the 24p sequence.
Additionally you may want to slow down some of the 60i action footage to 24fps for a nice slo-mo effect

Yes there is. Create a new title with all the settings: color, font size, and leading
Then save it as a style. There should be a panel in the titler with a bunch of other styles to choose from (all the different colored “A”s) if you right click in there, or select the menu icon at the top then you should have the option to save as a New Style or something like that.
Or you could save the title as a template by opening the template menu, but I think saving as a style makes more sense for what you’re doing.

If the layer is a transparent layer try using the “Simple Choker” effect

July 12, 2012 at 10:07 pm in reply to: Asking for tips to deal with audio adjustments (remove background voice + part of main voice)a)There is not really a way to remove that background audio without affecting the main dialog. Adobe Audition/Soundbooth has a good filter that can reduce steady background hiss/humm/noise and that may reduce it somewhat. If possible the right way to fix this is re-record the audio if possible
b)When I have to edit audio that has some background sounds/ambient noise I usually grab a section of audio where there is no dialog and use that as a background replacement so when the main dialog drops out there is a some background noise still there and it doesn’t sound so odd. Fadeing it in and out helps it seem natural too.

When you shoot try shooting at a lower angle, but essentially the problem is because the reflection and the subject are at 2 different angles. Stephens example is probably the best way to simulate the reflection angle.

You can try the Mesh Warp effect. It’s pretty simple to use, you can define the number of points horizontally and vertically, then grab a point and start scrunching.
