What is the best way to edit 60i and 24P (not 24PF) together?
I have a project coming up that is going to be an interview with a NFL running back. I planned on shooting it in native 24P and not a 24P advanced that contains a pulldown. I am supposed to be receiving game footage from the team or network station, and I am pretty certain that the footage will be in 60i.
I have done a lot of searching and there seems to be varying opinions about what to do in a 60i and 24PF or PA setting, (with a 3:2 pulldown) but how should I approach this if I am working with native 24P and need to sprinkle in game footage that is in 60i?
I know some of you will say it is better to shoot in the expected frame rate, however, I am not positive what the footage will be, and I need to know the answer to this question as I am sure this will come up again.
I have Premiere Pro CS6. Should I edit in a 60i timeline, or a 24P timeline? Do I need to do something to the footage before I edit?

I just finished a 10 minute piece with both and sequence was 60i.
premiere will add the pulldown.

Sequence presets almost don’t matter because of the way Premiere Pro handles video codecs and frame rates. As a rule, I’ll pick a sequence preset based upon what the majority of my footage is.

In this case I would edit in 60i.
24p will look fine for you with interview footage.

I agree with Dennis, and I generally edit in a sequence based on what the majority of my footage is or what my output is going to be. If it were me I would go with the 24p sequence.
Additionally you may want to slow down some of the 60i action footage to 24fps for a nice slo-mo effect

Okay great, this has been really helpful. I think I will attempt it in a 24p sequence since I would prefer my final output not be interlaced. But thanks again for the info.
