    Raj,

If you get any good info about Vancouver possibilities let me know as well! I have a friend who is relocating up there this fall…

I finally got Vegas 8.0b working on my x64 laptop (running Vista) by disabling DEP for it in system prefs. Everything else (SF, DVDSTPRO, ACID,) all worked fine without having to take this step. I use Vegas more than the other Sony Apps, so it was good to get it working again.

But I’ll tell you this, and you can take it to the bank: If I want to hear from them within 24 hours, all I need to do is wipe their files from my hard drive array.
    Boy is that the truth!!

Yes, I know, that is why I say I cringe when I have to resort to DV on the HVX myself! And even slashing that budget further has got to hurt!

I really feel for you trying to use the DV option with the HVX-200. Whenever I just have to use it I do, but I always cringe at the resultant DV footage quality versus the 720P HD footage quality. They are miles apart with this camera. I don’t know why anyone would even dream of shooting DV instead of HD on a professional paying job with the HVX.

And thank you for that one sir! It has come in very handy on quite a few recent projects!

There of course is a huge difference between client approvals and finished product output. Blu-Ray can and will take off only when Hollywood decides that consumers can buy a RECORDING stand-alone Blu-ray unit. Now they are still nixing the sale of units based on their old Betamax paradigm. Otherwise Blu Ray will never really take off.

While impressive quality, it choked a total of 8 times on my T1 connection. Also most of my clients need a DVD or HD DVD to distribute content that can be played for digital projection or high res monitor, not just look at once on their computer screen.

  • Until Apple embraces 64 bit code and completely rewrites the aging FCS code, there is no such thing as “a screaming fast editing machine” for the MAC. For that honor you have to go to BOXX technology and buy a truly thoroughbred, screaming fast 64 bit machine!

10.5.3 hosed the audio output on the MXO, but I just reinstalled the drivers and all seems well here as well.
