Thanks! so what do you mean by ‘only for position or scale’? what can I do to adjust these? I am working on two monitors…would it be a case of altering resolution to make the panel appear larger?

    Awesome. Thanks!

I knew there would be a less-manual/time consuming way to do it.

will keep that in mind when i get to AE too!

    Thanks again

    Great.

So now I know im not heading towards a dead end trying to get the results i want.

I am relatively familiar with after effects but some of the things that worry me include moving hair and certain shadow/highlights. I have found that a good technique for colouring hair is in photoshop using a graphics tablet. How on earth would I animate such detailed drawings using the puppet tool with out it distorting etc. Would it be better using vector layers from illustrator on top of base images as the shadows etc?

Sorry if any of my questions are no brainers, I just want to have a clear(ish) path in front of me before I start.

    Cheers

Okay, I’ll give that a try.

I understand how that will work for solid vector shapes but how would I animate, for example, a hand drawing of the hair, with small details such as tiny strands of hair, without them becoming distorted?

I’ve tried playing the footage in realtime and it makes no difference so i’m guessing it’s a footage issue! The files were taken straight from a DV camera and are .mov files and they have only played smoothly when I viewed them on the camera. Hope this helps.
