Thanks Arthur. I hard crashed the computer – lost my render and changes I’d made today – but I’m pushing forward and have already rebuilt and made additional progress except for the 2 hour render that will take place tonite. Kind Regards, Chris K.

I also opened another old program timeline to pull shots from for the new timeline. I can’t save or close the old program now either. M100 won’t let me shut down without crashing out of it. I haven’t installed or moved anything since working on the project. Hope you have some ideas. Kind Regards! Chris K.

I would HIGHYLY recommend NOT to use a tape cleaner in your eqpt. Please have that camera cleaned and inspected at a pro house. It sounds as if:

    A) your audio record heads are not making the connection.
    B) you’ve got a bad connection in your on cam mic
    C) your tape transport needs aligning

I had a camera take a small tumble once and it appeared to be fine. I tested with tape/test shooting – all seemed fine – but after recording an extremely important event I discovered to my shock a once in every five minute or so complete audio droput that would last 5-10 seconds. I’ve had that camera repaired – but to this day – do not trust it as an “audio” record device. It’s strictly B-roll. How many events could your company survive a “no audio” disaster. (Don’t test this at home)

Hope this helps. Kind Regards, Chris K.

  • Hey Jerome, Did you try exporting from M100 as a reference file? If not, try that. If you can succesfully export the movie by reference – Then open the reference file in QT and export it as an MPEG 4 compression. You’ll probably have to set the quality low to get the right size. If you are going to export for the web a lot, look at On2 for flash video compression. This does one helluva job compressing for about 250 bucks. The crashing on export sounds like a corrupt media problem – but it’s strange that you can export them successfully separately. I’d bet it was corrupt audio though. Had a sneaky little clip give me trouble for 2 days till I found it. Best of Luck! Kind Regards, Chris K.

Hey Jim, Had that happen to me on my G4 dual 1.42 – OS10.3.9 – M100 8.2.2 It ended up being a bad audio file that I played Bob Barker’s “Higher or Lower” guessing game with till I could single out the little turd! Hope you’re able to get it going! Kind Regards, Chris K.

What are your original programs mastered on? Do you need glass mastering? Do you need graphic design for your covers? Do you want full color art on the DVD itself and do you need injet or thermal print? I’ve worked with several professional companies – they just all have a different skill set. Kind Regards, Chris K.

Since you asked – Now that Boris is kicking butt with all these new versions/upgrades that were desperately needed – will there be a “multicam” function and how about support for the sony xd/xdhd cams. These 2 functions, or lack thereof, keep me from being able to push this system for our next big nationally broadcast show. I know you guys have been working doubletime to make up for the damage caused by previous owners – but we’re like a fighter who’s just been given a standing 8 count – we’d really like to fight with the big boys – but our legs are still a little wobbly. Please give us the tools to deliver the KO punch. Kind Regards, Chris K.

My target audience will vary as all offices have such a wide variety of equipment. (In our office the edit bays are great but our sales staff have slower than molasses in winter PCs) As each potential sponsor will hit the site I offer them the link to QT for PCs. Thanks for all your input. Kind Regards, Chris K.
