Media100i crashing
Posted by Jim Mclean on April 20, 2007 at 2:52 pmIn the last couple of days every time I export to Quicktime my Mac G5 crashes. And if I “Render Range to Bin” it crashes. Any suggestions about what may be going on here?

April 20, 2007 at 5:13 pmIs there an error message?
Is it crashing during the audio portion of the export?
If so, does video only work? -

The screen darkens and the message says to restart the computer. Is it crashing during the audio portion of the export?
If so, does video only work? After your questions I was able to export just the video. Then when I tried to export just the audio the computer crashed.
Thanks for your help! Jim

That sounds like a OS X kernal panic – How ’bout more of you system details: OS version, QT version, M100 Software Version, Hardware your using etc.
“I was able to export just the video. Then when I tried to export just the audio the computer crashed. ”
sounds like a corrupted audio file – try exporting audio portion of time line in sections (create a range) and see where it crashes, then you may be able narrow it down to the specific audio clip by shrinkig the range that crashes

April 22, 2007 at 5:19 amHey Jim, Had that happen to me on my G4 dual 1.42 – OS10.3.9 – M100 8.2.2 It ended up being a bad audio file that I played Bob Barker’s “Higher or Lower” guessing game with till I could single out the little turd! Hope you’re able to get it going! Kind Regards, Chris K.
