  • Hey Guys,

I’m a big reader of this forum and it helped me advance a lot.
Yesterday I got a music video to grade on Davinci. The editing was done with avid media composer 6,
the editor transcoded the original files to .mxf so he could work fast, then he relinked the clips to the original files (via AMA). I’m having the same problem that Peter is having, when I import the aaf file in Davinci, all the clips in the timeline appear with the red logo thing (can’t see them) although I can see them in the media pool. Did you guys find any solution for this?
    Thanks in advance

thank you everyone for your responses really appreciate it.
@ Raphael: I used premiere pro in the past few years and i was really happy with it but i thought that i need a more professional software and i directly thought of final cut pro since i don’t like avid that much. But when i saw the version 10 of fcp i was really shocked, i mean no multicamera, no save no nothing. I believe they should release some updates for the software or completely redesign it, meanwhile i’ll work on premiere pro.

Youcef, it seems we had the same issue except that i import them to the event library then to the timeline. I have version 10.0.2 i’m gonna check if there’s a newer version that hopefully will fix this issue. About the project I couldn’t find it anywhere and I repeated all the work with a big smile on my face because i have to.

hey richard, no i’m not using compound clips, i am importing my footage into the event library, and from there i choose what i want to put on my timeline.

haha i’m glad that my original footage is still there but if it wasn’t, i would ask them to marry again and invite the 300 guests again 🙂

Steve thanks a lot man i never imagined that i should check the undo button to know that my project was being saved, thats kinda sucks and is not practical !! but let’s assume that the project is not being saved how can I save it manually? there’s no save button in the menu.

yes Jason the project exists in the project library, it’s not deleted but it’s not with the new edits and cuts, it’s still as i left it 2 days ago !

yeah sorry for the lack of details but I was really annoyed.
Anyway i started editing this wedding since tuesday and everything is working fine.
Yesterday before starting to work i changed the project audio properties from dolby to stereo because i didn’t needed that then i began to work as usual, everything is good and fluid.
Today i opened final cut pro, opened my project and I saw that all the work of yesterday wasn’t saved.
The timeline is still as i left it on Wednesday, the music is available in the event library and the clips are available also, nothing is missing, but all the work in the timeline, the cuts, the transitions, the effects are not there ! it’s like i just imported the audio and the clips to the event library and didn’t work on them but that’s not the case !
    Hope this sounds clearer. Thanks

  • Thank you Dennis and Brett for making things much clearer! If matrox MXO2 mini doesn’t support Davinci Resolve, and is not compatible with final cut pro X,and doesn’t work with more than one application at a time then it’s useless for me. And thanks for your offer Dennis.
Just one more last question, does the intensity extreme work with final cut pro X or not?
    Regards
