    Media on separate 2T Raid 0 drive.
    Have not trashed prefs yet.
    The shots in question don’t need rendering. The shots that I fixed by shifting the IN point have green in the render line.
    I’m thinking of perhaps re-capturing the 24p files tomorrow with a MATROX MXO2 someone lent me. It has a setting for 23.98 precisely (unlike the FCP HDV to ProRes capture settings). Will see if that solves the problem.

    Thanks. But as I read it, the thread refers to 29.97 footage in a 23.98 sequence. I have already captured my 24p footage as 24p ProRes. The problem occurs in my 23.98 fps sequence adjacent to another portion of the same clip. Final Cut seems to be having a hard time processing two 24p shots to a 23.98 sequence in succession. Cinema Tools sees nothing to convert or Reverse Telecine.
