    Burnt film plug-in.
There are several of them around.
    FCP.
    After Effects.
    Motion.

    All can do this.

    Set in user prefs.

But thru-put and processor are going to be big factors.

Not sure why you would bring in both formats – do not edit with the raw cam files. Converting is the way to go.

    You would use easy setup:

    1080i60

then set the fields to none

    OR

    108030p easy setup

    and fields to none

Then change the compressor to pro-res if that is what your files are.

Or, drag a imported movie file onto a new comp and let FCP change the comp to match. But if you shot progressive then change the fields setting to none.

Back up cam card files always.

    Jason,

All Audio CD tracks are way hot for FCP audio levels. We too lower the db on all music tracks from the original.

December 30, 2010 at 2:19 pm in reply to: Can not choose scratch disc

Capture Scratch is where the App captures the video to Quicktime files – you choose the hard drive to capture to on the top section. Do you hvae “Render Files” selected as the same drive?

Waveform, Thumbnail and Auto save hard drive can be selected separately on the bottom section of scratch disc tab.

    Trash prefs.
Remove or Move the unwanted files. Relaunch app. Confirm selected drive for capture and render.
    Render.

Almost all consumer level and most pro-sumer level cams will not have true time-code. Each take or session will start over with the pseudo time-code.
The TC will not change after you ingest.
