Make sure in the Video Format Tab your Field dom is set to progressive if your footage is prog.

Also, best will take longer to render then better.
The time may shorten as it goes. It will take awhile depending on your program length and horsepower.

Well, how are your creating the DVD?

    You Should Edit in HD.
Output file “current Settings” making a ref file.
Drop that into compressor and select the DVD preset.
    Turn frame controls on.
    Select better or best.
Adjust data rate to best match your program length.

Just select the clips (missing) and choose batch capture and FCP will tell you what tapes it needs to re-load footage.

Did you use P2CMS to original transfer the content off the card onto a hard drive? With verify?

I’m sure “hi-end” docs would using one of the preferred methods of: Kona/Matrox/Blackmagic/Terranex during or before ingest.

    That being said,

Dropping a SD 4X3 image into a HD timeline and having a background of some kind does not mean you are submitting SD material. It will still be a rendered finished HD file.

Are you sure there is not any in/out markers in your timeline?
Also, do you have the disc space? Are trying to output a self contained large HD file?
    Try making a ref file.
Try coping the material to a new sequence.
