    You should render out of motion the same codec/frame rate/size as your sequence you’re using it in.

    The low data rate is where you need to change.
    You can drop the frame rate down to 15 or 12 a sec. to save space.

    I typically make FLV files around 1000-1800 kbps

    Ripped DVD will not give you 6 tracks of audio. You have 2, left and right. If you want to edit the Audio/Video from the DVD then rip to quicktime video and AIF audio files.
    Do you still have the DVD? to rip from?

    Or do you only have the ac3 file and you need to convert it?

    Do you have After Effect? This can use a Targa sequence and create a MOV file for you.

    Also in Quicktime 7, you can open Image Sequence and select the frame rate @ that point and create a MOV.

    You can also set the frame duration length upon import in FCP and import the stills there.

    However, if they shot 15FPS ??? you might have to stick to that?

    Look, you don’t want to re-render or re-compress anything more than absolutely necessary.

    Keep Sequenced Interlaced – this matches your footage.
    Render DV 50 quality or higher.

    Output current settings to a file.

    Compress file for web (deinterlace here)

    Compress file for DVD (NO deinterlace here)

    If you have to use the denoiser then you have to live with what it does to your images/grfx right?
