OR…

Copy and paste.

Double up your layer and crop a small section right above the time stamp.
Feather selection and move it over the time stamp on the bottom layer.
May need to blur some as well.

Export Current Settings.

The HD DVD format is dead. BluRay is the Hi-Def format.
Choose a SD DVD preset, adjust your frame controls and data rate for best picture.

Large Proj. files have been a prob w/ FCP for as long as I can remember.
Like suggested, try managing in smaller chunks.
You may a currupt file somewhere.

There are many that do not have problems working with FCP so keep in mind it is not just the APP. itself.

Sometimes when you have a really large foto and you scale it way down – it can yield less then perfect results.

Like having an image that is 3200 X 2800 and you put it in a 720X486 timeline and move on it from 12% to 22% or something like that. You can resize the image so you animate in the 80 to 100% range.

What are your sequence settings? What codec are you using?
Format of your stills?

Also, creating a move on stills in motion or AE will yield better results.

Without A LOT of lighting, you’ll have some grain, esp. in the blacks with a 1/3 CCD camera.

It’s comes from:

Low rez jpegs.
DV compression.

I would recommend using higher and larger quality stills.
Change sequence to DV50 or higher.
Try again.
