In AE, I apply the WS and then export/render movie. Creating a new file for import into pp.
    Old school perhaps.

    The simple way?
    Import the movie into DVDSP.
    Burn.

If you’ll edit off the OS drive ever at all, 7200rpm would be preferred.

And the scratch drive you are capturing to is?
    How full is it?
Do the clips playback fine after capture?

August 2, 2011 at 2:22 pm in reply to: Problem with adding .mp4 to FCP 7

What did you use to convert them?
    What settings did you choose?

In mpegstreamclip the nearest size would be 720×360

Your clips are an odd size = 720×384

SD NTSC is 720X480 or 720×486

Can you convert them to .mov and maintain size?
Do you have a compression program other then compressor?

    After Effects?

I would put the clips into (after converted) 720×480 sequence having extreme letterbox look. AE would make it easy for you.

    Please search forum.

FCP does not like to work w/ mp4 files.
convert it to a mov first, then import to edit.

    Really want a fresh start?
Format the drive and re-install the OS and APPS.

Otherwise, yes, drag files and projs. into trash.

Many, many times you see this not as a camera move but the actor moves.

They walk right into the camera, filling the screen with black and then transition to another scene…
