Mini DV is SD. Do you mean a HDV cameras?
Don’t bother, it’s end of life stuff.

Look into HD cams that record to SD cards.
Panny HCM series comes to mind.

Ya, when I choose AVCIntra100 – it does play;

But I don’t like the mpeg-1 compression. Does it compress it all to that? Then recompress when I export a master?

I have OS 10.6 and the BMD decklink Studio card.
I have the same problem. Can’t play the Black Magic sequences through all the edits. Editing AVCIntra100 P2.
Premiere does NOT have the same realtime capabilities as FCP has that’s for sure.

Do you have encore?
You can open up your PP sequence in encore.
Render out your master.

That sounds like the DVD player settings or the TV settings.

Create a NEW sequence.
Drag a clip from your browser.
Then you get the box asking, say yes.
Delete that clip.
Copy your editing sequence clips with the render issue
and paste into new sequence.

Export from FCP using “CURRENT SETTINGS” Make self-contained. This is your digital master.

Drop that file into compressor and create:

DVD Delivery
WEB Delivery
QT Playback Delivery

DVDSP should read the file’s aspect ratio correctly as should Compressor.

Chose the compressor preset that best fits your program length.

In DVDSP you want letterbox mode for the display:
