    Hi CC,

This is my second major project (for me at least) using FCPro (v.7).

Every time I take a clip insert it, nudge it, etc. it then says ‘unrendered’. I can’t touch any clip in my sequence without it needing rendering. I don’t remember needing to render 40-50 times every time I edit something.

I’ve got to be doing something wrong. I just transferred the files from Premiere and it doesn’t require this. The last project I edited in FCPro a couple years ago didn’t need require me to wait 5 minutes to render every 2 seconds to see my video either.

What am I screwing up? Going crazy.

It sounds like your sequence settings don’t match your footage. Try starting a new sequence with any random preset, then drag your footage into the timeline and, when you get the window that asks if you want to conform the sequence settings to match the footage, click “yes” this time.

    Hi David,

It wouldn’t drag for some reason, so I selected everything, and COPY/PASTED into the new sequence. It didn’t even give me the pop-up window. But now it’s giving me the colored bars up top like I’d expect. Not just a bunch of red/purple.

Everything just works. (sigh) Thank you. Thanks a bunch. I’ll remember now if my whole comp is behaving super whack, to do the whole bait and switch to see if that works.

    Thanks a bunch.

    Best,

Why don’t you just duplicate the sequence?
[Max Jackson] “It wouldn’t drag for some reason, so I selected everything, and COPY/PASTED into the new sequence. It didn’t even give me the pop-up window”
Drag first ONE clip to conform the sequence to the sequence.
    Then do whatever you want.
You can not conform the sequence by “pasting” anything.

    Create a NEW sequence.
Drag a clip from your browser.
Then you get the box asking, say yes.
    Delete that clip.
Copy your editing sequence clips with the render issue
    and paste into new sequence.
