    I had a client bring me 2 mxf folders that she couldn’t log & transfer.

    everything seemed ok from a folder structure standpoint.

    using log & xfer to convert for fcp, they would only show a red exclamation on the status if you tried to xfer them.

    What worked is opening the .mxf files in the VIDEO folder in Adobe Media encoder (I have cs4)

    then I transcoded them to DVCPRO HD 720P 24. I did have to set the image aspect to 1.33 to get them to look correct.

    No need to manually sync audio…media encoder will do that automatically.

    maybe this will help someone in the future.
