thank you. to clone my existing startup drive, would i just select my “Macintosh HD” (my startup drive) and choose “Make Copy” and then paste to another drive (like an external)? and then after deleting my existing drive, would i just paste it back?

thanks in advance for your advice.

    also –
i had just installed a new WesternDigital external HD and had configured it for mac….i had a little bit of trouble getting it to work and i might have done something i wasn’t supposed to..

could that have caused the disk drive to go wacky?

forgive me. i’ve tried several different brands of disk. and they all work fine in other computers. i knew that there are sometimes a couple disks that are duds in the stack, so i tried several throughout the package. no good on my MacBook Pro, but they all work fine on our G5 and our Dell.

i can also play and read commercial disks e.g. movie dvds or music cds. it’s the blank ones that are not recognized.

    thanx.

thanx. i know that it’s easier to work with entrance light source, but what about when it’s “supposed” to be completely dark, with no light source available, yet you know you have to see your actors! 🙂
