Yes. I have also been told Boris are working on it. I find some decks more stable than others & SDI more stable than component.
Decks which hold genlock: All Panasonic DVCPRO 25/50/100, Sony A500 digibeta, Sony UVW1800 beta. All others bad, especially DVCAM.
Haven’t tried HDCAM yet as I favour DVCPRO HD as a format…
Should get the new Media 100 HD update in the next week or so. I await with baited breath!!

The only Firewire deck we use is Sony HVR-M25E.

Quite agree. Seems that he is working hard to satisfy most of our needs & when V11 and Boris Blue come together, later this year, I for one will be much happier! For those interrested, P2 & HDV are due to us later this year (IBC). Also, we spoke about re-starting the Media 100 UK users group. Boris is keen to support this (together with Dan from Cypher AMS). Now Media 100 is free from the pitfalls of hardware design, I think we can expect things to move forward again! I was SO CLOSE to ditching my system & going to Avid…

It will play a single layer of uncompressed HD (cuts only), but trips-up when scrubbing along the timeline & when attempting to mix/disolve to another layer. I think your best bet, for an economic solution, is to test a G-SATA RAID with the 10,000rpm disc speed option. I believe this may do the job. Let me know your findings & good luck!

No problems with 3Gig RAM on M100HD. Improves speed & preview on AE.
