Genlock -out of control…
Is there anyone out there in M100hd 10.1.3 land that has an issue with the SD Genlock switching back to internal whenever it wants to… exporting, before mastering, etc. ????

I have discovered it is a fairly common problem with everyone running an HDX board. We replaced two black generators before we realized the problem was with the SW. Word is they are working on the issues in the next release or so–but i have heard nothing official on the matter.

Yes. I have also been told Boris are working on it. I find some decks more stable than others & SDI more stable than component.
Decks which hold genlock: All Panasonic DVCPRO 25/50/100, Sony A500 digibeta, Sony UVW1800 beta. All others bad, especially DVCAM.
Haven’t tried HDCAM yet as I favour DVCPRO HD as a format…
Should get the new Media 100 HD update in the next week or so. I await with baited breath!!G5 dual 2.7, OS10.4.4, 4G RAM

Yep, it is a problem. I don’t use it unless I am mastering to tape. My decks are all fed from a “house sync” and digitizing doesn’t rely on it. So the only time I worry about it (or use it) is when I “master to tape.”
