Great news! I haven’t heard about it, but will investigate. I’ve now been through FOUR sets of EX3 base plate thingies & that’s even while using a Zacuto base plate system. The only thing holding it all together was the matte box!!

Thanks for the quick reply Floh. Unfortunately the EX3 can’t output SDI when the Firewire port is switched on! So, as there are separate TC outputs on the EX3, can I connect this to the LTC timcode input on the HDx box?

I bought the lens from Mitcorp, London. I believe it’s the first one in the UK.
I haven’t tried any other 1/2 inch lenses with the adapter yet, but plan to use a Letus with 35mm Nikon lenses when I have a shoot that allows sufficient time for tinkering with such toys!

Yes John, I have the new WA Fujinon lens for the EX3, and a fine beast it is. However, if you’re looking for a shallow dof, this is not the lens for you. You will need an adapter & suitable lenses for that. But if you need the ability to shoot wide, have the same focus facilities as the standard lens & use the same zoom demand, this is the lens to use. Physically it’s a little heavier & longer than the standard, but doesn’t make hand held operation any more difficult. Image wise I have only seen my back focus chart through it so far, but will endeavour to test it this weekend & give some feedback early next week.

Yes. Better gamma, but saturation still down. Should I play with the Colorsync profiles in the QT exporter?

I have just noticed there’s a Colorsync tab in the QT exporter. Mine was defaulting to Current monitor for both source & destination profiles. Should I set these to PAL/SECAM, Apple RGB or what?

OK I now understand that without Deck Control Media 100 will not see TC.
Can I use Firewire deck control while capturing SDI?
