Note: If you don’t have the Mograph module you can just use a Sweepnurbs with a flat rectangle as a profile spline along with a path spline (helix in the tut example). Then just animate the “Start” and “End” growth parameter in unison. Works just like “Stroke” in AE.

Although all that could be done in C4D as well. Although the text that writes itself on I haven’t figured out an easy way to do that in C4D. I asked Joost how he did that and he said he used one of Max’s knife modifiers (or something of the sort).

I’ve never used Max but can tell you that C4D is a complete dream. However I wouldn’t think it has some magical quality that makes it best at motion graphics per se. It’s a lot more artistic friendly than Maya though. If anything, it’s because it’s so simple and layed out so well, you spend more time on the art and less on the technical. However can think of a guy who does awesome motion graphics (almost)only with Max (https://www.renascent.nl)

First of all just hit the button below the comp window that corrects for the .9 stretch. There’s no reason you need to be looking at it stretched. Second of all get a decent uncompreesed output card like the Decklink or AJA Kona. Both ads for them should be on the Left side of the forum thread list page here at the AE Cow.

First make sure you have Color Finesse installed (Free with AE 6.5 and 7) and use that. It’s a modern color corrector. AE only has old school Photoshop-like coloring tools. But if you don’t use color finesse, you can just stack a hue/sat with a curves and do it all there. Use the hue sat to control the saturation and the RGB curve for your levels and the individual color channel curves (Red, Green, Blue) for your hue offsets.
