In my career I have shot 35mm and 16mm at 24 fps a jillion times. I never, ever got the kind of objectional stutter like I get on my Panny.

I’ve done a bunch of tests with MOS 24p footage and it all stutters like crazy every time something moves. Nothing to do with audio there.

I totally concur with Peter. I absolutely HATE the stuttered look of the 24p that comes out of my DVX100. But the 30p is gorgeous. I use an anamorphic converter lens and it just looks great. Add to that the 30p film look with Gfilm and I’m a happy camper.

I had to go back to Panther ’cause I have dubs due today.

In all my research on this topic, the Kona 2 is the only solution besides Teranex, and almost as good.

YES, I had the EXACT same type results in FCP 5, on an existing project in 4.5 where the text looked great. nO amount of fiddling with quality settings helped. I also had the no video problem, it kept switching from all frames to none on it’s own. I had to bail on it and re-install Panther and 4.5 to get my livehood back. Bummer.

All your points may be true, but you miss my point. You’d think Apple would get better as they get older, and I have gone through major OS upgrades from OS 6 through 10. And NEVER in any of these stages have I seen this kind of failure.
I am a loyal customer who has come to expect that Apple figures this kind of shit out before they release a new OS or app. I could put up with a 1-5% hiccup as you mentioned, but not this kind of total failure.
