My typographer figured it out, apparently what I installed on the G5 was his demo font, which has missing letters and a few experimental lower case characters, which would wxplain the LiveType behavior. Doh!

All you have to do is put the still in Photoshop and change the height only, make it 540. You’re done. You need to do this for DVD menus as well, that is if you lift a still from your video.

If you shot anamorphic and you want 4×3 with no letterboxing, of course you’ll have to crop it, or it will look squished. You should read this:

Assuming that you export your slides in a lossless format, (tif, targa) they should look okay, but you could try going uncompressed, but then you’ll have to render and you won’t be able to play it in real time on your monitor. So this would be the last thing you do before going out to QT or Compressor.
Myself, I’d take the stills and blow them up to say, double in PhotozoomPro.

No such thing as a dumb question, only dumb answers. You Make a 4×3 sequence and put your 16×9 into it, it will automatically letterbox. BUT, you can crop off the sides in the motion tab if you’d like, if it was shot in such a way to allow for cropping.

And if that doesn’t work, it’s highly likely you have a corrupt project or media file(s). To test the first, open a new project, copy and paste your timeline and browser to the new project and re-name it. For the second, highlight each clip in the timeline and press command R. Do this til you find the one(s) that won’t render, they are bad files.

I got the Bose at the Apple store, don’t see a mocel number, but they were around a hundred and fifty bucks. Probably get them cheaper on-line.

You don’t HAVE to buy an SD card, the Kona LH will work just fine in your 1.8. I’m using one in a 2 gig dual and it works great for SD. And when I run the output to my HD monitor I can watch HD in real time.
