Hi Craig,

Thanks for getting back to me. I was really worried it had something to do with the system drive, as it was newly installed into my machine in december and leopard put onto it.

However i since found that it was the new g-drive q that i had hooked up to it after testing the drive on another machine. The data and discs in the drive are fine, but the bit that makes it talk to my machine have gone south.

Since disconnecting the drive all has been well but thanks for the info, much appreciated.

Yes sorry i should have mentioned that before, it is indeed my own copy which was purchased recently. the message only pops up when i open the directors project file with the ‘looks’ filters/effects already applied.

if i open a new project the message does not appear. is it something to do with another copy of looks under another reg being used?

Many thanks for the advice, its all sorted. If i am to work with the converted footage do i still need the original data? i am receiving it on a hard drive from the director where he has a back up copy of everything. So it seems like a lot of data to send if i can only work with the Fcp friendly data….
