Running FCP 6.05 on a Dual 2.5 G5 with OS 10.4.11, QT 7.5.5 with 4 gig of ram.

I am Working on an XDCAM EX project supplied from a director on a Hard drive which is to be finished on my machine and make ready for broadcast and export the QT’s.

The Project had been coloured/styled with Magic bullet looks, so i installed the software and opened up the project file to be told that Looks was un-authorised and that i should enter a serial number or un-install.

Now i open up the looks builder and entered in the serial number but to no avail.

This is quite urgent and any help and ideas greatly welcomed….

    Thanks in advance!

Is this you own separate copy of MB? Because you can’t use the SN from the director. Red Giant tracks machine IDs to prevent multiple installs.

If this is a new copy, contact RedGiant.

What Shane said. Is this your copy of Looks or the Director’s? If it’s the Director’s you need your own copy.

Yes sorry i should have mentioned that before, it is indeed my own copy which was purchased recently. the message only pops up when i open the directors project file with the ‘looks’ filters/effects already applied.

if i open a new project the message does not appear. is it something to do with another copy of looks under another reg being used?

Hmmmm, does the Director have FC Studio / Looks installed on that external drive? Looks might be looking at that.

It’s a very finicky software and we’ve had issues with moving from one version of Looks to a newer version of Looks in the past.
