    I dont’t think there is a possible way of rotating the frisbee, because the original object is captured from side ways, so rotating it may result as rotating an orbit. You can try to make a similar texture in circular shape in Photoshop, and then import it as a 3D layer and rotate it to correspond, then you can animate the rotation on Y-axis.

    Well I’m not sure that they are just 2D layers rotating in 3D space, for exapmple look the red cloud in the very beginning of the video, it has a 3D look.

    Thanks for the effort, but this is not what i was looking for. I ended up with a solution of custom made paths to be followed by the Particular to clone the exact same effect.

    Can you please tell me how? I know the Cc particle world is used only for particles, not helix twisting
