0 i think doesn’t appear to be anything unusual there.
Still no joy since then, I copied everything to a new timeline no effects and exported same issue, i then attempted multiple exports disabling each track to try and discover which clip was doing it, no joy.
I also disabled all the clips on the timeline basically making a 3hr black clip and it STILL didn’t work!
I am able to export the original event clips individually so am currently exporting as Pro Res and then will attempt to restart the project.

Hi Jeremy that will be my next step i think. I left the computer exporting over night but I only trashed all the event and project renders rather than copying everything to a new project, same results. Hope Apple introduce a dedicated super render mode or something so we can get those faster times outside of exporting as situations like this ultimately require starting again.
currently exporting all the footage from the day without effects as pro res 422 in a new project to see if I can 100% eliminate corrupted media from my inquiries.
thanks for all the help so far, i’ll post on here if/when i get this working so hopefully if anyone ever runs into a similiar issue they can save themselves a few days of screaming

No problem cheers for all the help thus far.
footage is being exported back to the same Raid as the original project so shouldn’t be any issues with formatting. So far I have tried xdcam 50mbps, 35mbps, and pro res 422 (which I think the project is native too)
A dvd export of the project did work from within FCPX so as a measure of last resort I could potentially export to blu ray and then transcode to dvd from that but it’s far from an ideal situation.
My export with the text disabled via the V button also failed, I forgot to V one text segment but that would likely have been well within a portion of a previous export which I cancelled halfway and kept the file which bizarrely opened ok.
All I can think of now is trashing all the render files and copying and pasting the clips into a new timeline, I’m completely stuck/a slightly similar sounding word.

It’s just the export that is corrupted, i quit a export a few days ago around about the 60%mark kept the file and everything plays back ok there but for some reason the whole thing does not.
There are a few text graphics in there just occured to me disabling/tweaking something minor so they re render and then attempting a quick 422 export might solve the issue.
The original files are XDCAM imported directly into fcpx through XDCAM Browser with no music, differen’t file types etc. literally just the media which plays back fine and a seconds of text between clip.

through on some corrections and re rendered the projcet, i can get part of an export to open up fine from a previous export I quit around 60% but once fcpx has actually exported 100% I still get the movie file is corrupted msg.

Was the original card formatted to FAT? It has a maximum size of 4gb’s a file or about 20min of footage so you may have ended up with split clip (a symbol should appear to denote that). If you import directly off the card via XDCAM Browser, or clipbrowser rather than transfer as that rewraps the files to a .mov rather therefore preserving the original file structure then hopefully everything you shot should appear as one file.

Ran into this very problem today, first time i’ve ever seen it in nearly 3yr’s of using the camera. should have been at least two clips from a take but after ejecting the card and putting it in the mac nothing appeared apart from the clips that were already on there.
Is it worth taking in for a service? I was lucky in that this was a tv pilot and was able to spot the shot was awol and repeat the shot straight away but a lot of the work i do is weddings which could have a significantly worse result.

Files all work fine…eventually. when I first had this problem I assumed it was the card dying and returned it too Amazon for a replacement but the new one started doing it straight away only on the 95mbps cards is it doing this!
literally just tried again maybe 10-15times and the only occasion it seems to have worked is when I didn’t click away to another page

Similar issues here rendering takes literally forever 3min of retimed clips and cc takes maybe 1-2hrs importing and analysing of gopro footage I gave up on after 2-3hrs of analysing. I copied contents into a new project since update but no joy 2011macbook i5 8gb ram project on FireWire 800hdd
