    Hi Alan

    Sorry i have not got back to you earlier.

    So I have a still frame of a football stadium, taken from a helicopter. The helicopter is at about a 45 degree angle to the stadium and quite a distance away. He has asked for the fireworks to explode off the ground,and when they reach their intended heights, explode to form the word “luv”. I have creative freedom as to how they form. They could be many single fireworks, that do not explode, but emit a bright glow at the top of their ascent. Their could be so many of them that that makes up the word, or one or 3 fireworks could explode to form the outline of the word or each letter. Either way, the letters need to be quite chunky to be obvious what the word is.

    Hope that gives you a better idea. Im going to try Kevins idea later tonight. (Thanks Kev)

    Ok i think i got it.

    On the attach point, i used this expression.

    x = motionTracker(“left logo”)(“Track Point 1”).attachPoint[0]+10;
    y = motionTracker(“left logo”)(“Track Point 1”).attachPoint[1];
    [x,y]

    It seemed to have worked for me.

    Just out of curiosity, was there an easier way to do it?
    thanks

  • Hi Dave

    For a number of reasons really. Im trying to get more into expressions and the more i do the more i learn. it keeps my comp nice and neat and manageable and in my comp, i have a layer with nearly 85 markers. At every marker, i need layer 1s opacity to be at 0%. Although your solution is a very good one, id rather avoid it.

    As it turns out, i stepped away from my machine, had a coffee and came back and it came to me. All i had to do was to multiply the opacity by -1 the add 100. It works just fine now.

    Thanks for your reply though. I appreciate all help on this great resource, the Cow.

    thanks.. thats a great tutorial. will use that when i next have a keying job.

    But if anyone else has any tricks they use to enhance the key, before they pull it, i’d love to know.

    Cheers

    March 26, 2007 at 9:05 pm in reply to: Do i need my .DPX files as linear or Log

    Dammmmmm

    The film has now been sent away and is being processed as we speak into Linear space. I have been trying to find info on this subject all day, i was unsuccesful, and because i had read about AE7s new linear colour space, i thought this would be the best way, so i told the business to do it Linear…..

    I feel quite sick now, coz it costs alot of money to convert it. Having never done this before, theres alot of pressure on me using the files. Will they still easy to work with? What should i do when i recieve them?

    THanks for all your input.
    Chris
