Actually he did. There was a secret room. Turns out that the transporter, still pre-Beta, not only links through space, but through time as well. You are right about IBC; we got taken there (2015) to watch the official release announcement. It worked well going, but coming back there were glitches, though nothing unprecedented for pre-Beta. I now have a third eye, which was certainly unanticipated, but has proved to be quite useful.
I’m a little hesitant to be sharing this because of the NDA I signed, but since a couple of square inches of my right buttock remain in 2015 (after the NDA was lifted) I feel fairly confident that I’m on solid ground.

Aindreas, I am if fact beat. Just had some nice steak and eggs and then flushed 40 bucks down the slot drain, and am ready to drive home tomorrow, AM.
As for CS Next, what really stuck out were the mass of little things that were done at the behest of users; things like vertically moving your clips, attention to TC details, clip relinking, clip level mixing, better ways to adjust track height, better integration of audio tools. It looks quite solid and industrial strength (meaning that it can be used in industrial fashion, not just to do industrials on.). Of course, we’ll all know better when we get our hands on it, but 6 was a winner, and this seems even better than 6.
I’m very enthusiastic about it. I will undoubtedly be bouncing between Avid and it quite a bit, and will probably be visiting Legacy only when requested, once both 7s ship.
An interesting side development, btw: One of the Adobe presentations was from Crown Media’s VP of Media Operations, Mark Stolnitz. Crown Media owns the Hallmark Channels, and they are migrating their video operations from Avid to Premiere. They are very happy with it. Kind of cool.
PS: The HP 820s are absolutely beautiful beasts. The interior design is gorgeous. And the scalability is mind-blowing. They are so far ahead of the Mac Pro that pretending that Apple is just waiting for the proper development opportunities to reintroduce the Mac Pro is just, well… pretending. Their workstation laptops are also pretty dang cool.

I suppose people are generally underwhelmed with advances they don’t need or use. DNx is huge for me. With my workflow, going back and forth between my Avid and my Legacy projects is a really big deal. The ability to browse inside projects and select material is huge. I won’t belabor it, but its a major update. Of course, if none of the stuff is useful to you, than you are going to be–as you say–underwhelmed.

I’m grateful they didn’t. But, hopefully, if they ever do, they’ll do it in a way that allows for instant differentiation of groups of audio elements, which is something Apple has so far failed to do.

There’s no dogfight beteen X and Pr, just differing markets with a large overlap. The necessary NLEs, for me, are Pr, MC, 7 and possibly Lightworks. X is fascinating in its own right, but the need to know it is, for me, not in sight yet.

It supports both decoding and encoding of DNx MXF, so if I understand you correctly, the answer is yes.
