First off, that kind of behavior is platform agnostic. Sorry it happened to you, but, believe me, I’ve seen it happen in reverse as well.
Second, I’m thinking that with FCP X it will be much less an issue. I mean it will always be an issue. Wankers happen.

Really, you are going to go with this, Bill? Cherry pick the definition of hypocrisy so that you can accuse David of calling you a liar? It seems to me that this represents the very discussion technique that David is complaining about.
Bill, I think it is great that you find so much exciting about FCP X. What ain’t so hot, from my POV, is the degree to which–in your zeal–you are constantly telling people that if they don’t get on board they are relegated to the dust bins of history. That’s a rather hard sell, and pretty bold statement to be making on something as ill-defined as FCP X currently is.

Was it inserting black frames into the media or render of the media itself? Or were there discrete black frames visible on the timeline? I ask because on a recent FCP7 project I was transcoding from a DVCproHD@24fps to PAL SD, and I got persistent, intermittent black frames inserted at seemingly random points. In compressor, I had no such problem. This happened after FCP X installation and removal.

Ronald, you can send it directly from the timeline. Look for “send to” in the drop down menus under file.
