Lots and lots of source drives – about 2 months of shooting just about every day. It’s just not do-able to have that much UHD original footage on-line at the same time. Just looking for the most painless way to rez-up…

We’re talking about dozens of source drives potentially, so no way to mount them all at the same time.
I’m not sure how this works with source media on drives…would you decompose the sequence and then
point it to each source file individually in batch-recapture? Is there a way to automate more of the process?
I’m used to the Avid asking for each tape – you put it in – it does it’s thing – and then on to the next tape.
I’ve never had to do it with media on Sata drives. Any input is appreciated.

I consider these clips to be graded – the problem is that Resolve treats them as ungraded. I don’t think it should matter if it’s done at the clip or post clip level – they have still been modified.
Not a deal breaker, just a PITA.
I do watch the entire show before I render as well…

We swapped out the machine a couple of weeks ago and so far I haven’t had any render problems.
I am also now on OS 10.10.5 and Resolve v12. When Apple tested the old machine, it failed a bunch of tests…

OK, just had the problem again – this time when mixing down a frame of white made in photoshop and imported as a PNG.
I can’t believe this is only happening to me – maybe not very many people cutting in UHD?…

I’m using DNXHRX. No proxy mode. Importing and then doing a mixdown to the same DNXHRX codec.
The only time it seems to happen is when it’s white text on black. Mixing down to any of the other UHD
codecs doesn’t seem to cause a problem. I just tried AMA’ing the PNG files instead of importing, and that mixdown worked. Using MC v8.3.1 and OS 10.9.4. I have both quicktime 7.6.6 and 10.3 installed.
Late 2013 trash can.

Direct out is greyed out in the audio settings unless you do a same as source or reference movie.
You can’t do a mixdown to prores in the avid in UHD resolution, only in HD.
Unless there is some other way I am missing?…
