try encoding with the mpeg2 codec.
I could use h.264 but never have.
Mpeg2 has never failed me. I use compressor or adobe media encoder and always get great looking discs that look the same as the original source.

A lot of people saw this coming, since FCP-X made its debut.
For Apple’s future road map it makes perfect sense.
But I don’t have to like it.

See how the hand is stretched vertically?
thats anamorphic 16×9.

Monitoring via Kona is a key feature I have to have.

caveat is the memory needs to be ddr5 and it looks like this is more geared towards the pc crowd.

leave the deinterlace as it is.
If you own after effects or an adobe product that ships with adobe media encoder…use it.
It’s faster and does a better job at resizing down for DVD than compressor.
especially on 720P HD video. -
set the resizing to highest quality.
don’t export reference files….ALWAYS do self-contained.
Some say doing it as a reference is never recommended and I concur. -

Not sure, but I make .omf files almost weekly for a variety of programs from :15 TV Spots, to feature length films.
I’ve never had any sync issues going from final cut to pro tools. (all options enabled and :10 sec handles)
so you can probably rule out final cut.
