could be your ram…you’ve got the bare minimum.
I’ll grab some xdcam transferred and directly loaded .mp4 files
and see what it does and report back. -
that unrendered sequence I was playing non-stop in CS 6 was in full res mode.

I’m having really good experiences with CS 6 on the mac.
All the issues I have with CS 5.5 not playing rendered sequences
all the way through is solved with 6.Release date can’t come soon enough.
These are my comments/changes I’d like to see asap:
unrendered playback is fantastic but drifts out of audio sync very quickly.
exported files are in sync. but I’d like the unrendered preview to be in sync.I DO NOT like that omf export still goes through system drive.
If my scratch disk is set for my RAID, I expect EVERY process to
go through the RAID.Since the demo we’ve all been playing with is not the final release,
I’m hoping these will be a non-issue on release day. -

I’m puzzled by the odd size of 655×486
does it look the same (bad) when played with quicktime player (not from premiere)

what does it say the codec is?
by the way you describe it sounds like a low-quality downconvert
from 720P to DV footage.the data rate should be a heckuva lot more than 27mbps if its uncompressed.
If thats the case, no card upgrade will solve that.
They will need to provide you with a high quality down-convert
with uncompressed codec. Not DV. -
On the RED forum an Adobe tester stated the latest build
they have is CS 6.01 (someone scolded him for spilling the beans as he was under NDA)It would appear the “official” release of CS 6 will be 6.01 possibly higher.
hopefully that will be taken care of, I use .MTS on most projects now.

I’m not experiencing this at all.
I’ve opened black-magic cs 5.5 projects
as well as CS 4 projects in the CS 6 demo no problem.They were prores and uncompressed sequences.
also, a friend of mine was able to open cs 5.5
projects in CS 4. I thought that was pretty cool.
