if its 1920 in premiere then coming out of compressor at 1440
it’s gotta be changing it there.is your deliverable xdcam?

I had no trouble with DSLR footage from a 5d on CS 5.5 when I tried it a few months back.
what camera are you shooting with?
mac or pc version of premiere?

You should try the demo of CS 6.
It’s a 64-bit re-write of Encore.
It works WAY better now than any previous version which are/were useless.

I’ve noticed this as well with Sony NXCAM footage.
I drop it in a new sequence and when premiere asks to change it to match
it makes it AVC-INTRA instead of AVCHD.I’m also seeing the yellow bar now every time.
I could have sworn when I was on CS 6.0 (now on 6.01)
if the sequence matched the footage, there was no yellow line
(even though it plays just fine with yellow line) -
It’s the nature of the beast with dslr footage, but hopefully they’ll
fix for a workaround soon.Have you tried exporting the entire timeline and using scene detection
in resolve?I heard that at least works for about 90% of the cuts. sometimes all of them.

exporting? -

just weird that cs 6 assumes the panasonic format instead of sony.
but alas either work fine anyway.

I’ve never had problems opening .ai .psd .eps files from any version
of photoshop, illustrator etc..a .psd made in cs 6 can be opened in photoshop 4. (version 4 not cs 4)

I’ve done lots of AVCHD from the sony cameras.
Works quite well.
The only oddity and this is just a nitpick:
when I drop .mts avchd files into a new sequence and premiere
asks if i want to conform the timeline to match, it makes
an AVCINTRA sequence and not avchd which is odd. -
having both installed is supported and should work just fine.
though you could open 5.5 projects in 4, you can’t open 6
projects in previous versions, though I suspect an .xml
export might work for backwards compatibility.
