you can’t capture prores in premiere even with final cut studio installed.
some sort of licensing issue.
We switched to CS 5.5 at the beginning of the year then upgraded to CS 6.
A lot of us still use Final Cut Pro for capturing and laying back to tape, because
it’s simply easier that way. -
I would try updating or reverting back one version of the Decklink Driver.
I had some really terrible experience with one of those versions.

For one that’s not really enough ram to run it smoothly.
minimum should be 16gb.Do you have a fast storage system?
Editing from a single drive can be problematic. -

holy cow thats so weird.
I’ve always just exported sequences from premiere or queue them to media encoder,
but dragging the sequence from the bin to media encoder sounds much quicker
and I’d like to use it, but not until the bug is fixed.Have you looked at the project folder and witnessed it jump in size when you save?

CUDA 5.00.27 was made available a few days ago.
Just updated to it.

ya thats frustrated some when it happens (rebuilding the peak file)
it sounds like you already have the RAID.
What is the sequence setting codec?
I’ve found for example, using AVC Intra 100 to be much
faster in the editing phase, with the render codec set
for mpeg i frame.when done, I export it as ProRes or some other full frame
best quality codec. -
How long is that captured file?
Have you let the system just sit and finish it’s conform?
I had an issues yesterday related to conforming, it’s best
not to do anything until it finishes doing that.What storage system are you using?
A RAID of some kind even a simple RAID zero helps performance
a lot with cs 6.
