I’ve never heard of an .srs file before. I don’t think
any app supports that..ac3 & .dts is all that supports surround in most apps.
(though .dts is rarely supported in all but the biggest packages like scenarist)

Most PAL DVD players and all PAL televisions 10 years and newer
can playback NTSC DVD’s just fine. -
Most of the pro-level apps will allow 5.1 audio.

By far the best conversion from either formats via software
can be perfectly accomplished with procoder 2.everything else is stuttery and might even have audio synch issues.

Did you choose video for windows .avi then go into
the compression options?It should show up being a vfw codec.

If your content is not very long (less than 10 minutes) you
might be able to do a Hybrid CD-Extra/CDVD.that is…a cd with redbook cd audio on one part and a rom
section with the VIDEO_TS dvd content on it.I’ve made them before, they only play on computers but the
cd audio would play in any cd player. -
PNG files ALWAYS look better than jpegs.
The compression is completely different.
A jpeg will exhibit artifacts where a PNG
likely never will.If your pictures are 7k wide that is way too big
even for cropping and panning. You should do
a batch/action in photoshop and get them down
to 2k or 3k in size. That will likely not
cause any issues and allow you to get the job
done without crashing.Even a robust compositing app like After Effects would
have problems choking down many 7k images.It’s just not practical even with 3Ghz+ cpu’s and 4 Gigs
of ram in your system.(I do a lot of this kind of thing btw and this has been
my experience) -

You could very easily accomplish this with the slideshow settings
in ReelDVD though you would have to set a duration. make it extra
long and it would be no problem. This setup responds exactly
like a slide projector. You could not have audio in it though.ReelDVD is really low-cost now. Sonic sells it for $ 250
