Hybrid/Combo DVD/CD???
I’ve got a client looking to create a DVD that will also play normal audio if inserted in a CD player.
How can i do this?

This isn’t going to happen. CD players just simply cannot read DVDs. They may look similar but they are definitely not the same.

I’ve heard of these. Don’t expect to find blanks at Wall-Mart or CompUSA. These disks are custom made to order by replicator houses. You have to give the replicator separate masters for the DVD & the CD sides. You’ll have to order at least one or two thousand, though.

It’s almost impossible to adhere a CD and a DVD layer without making the resulting disc over-spec for thickness, so these discs might be problematic in some players.

If your content is not very long (less than 10 minutes) you
might be able to do a Hybrid CD-Extra/CDVD.that is…a cd with redbook cd audio on one part and a rom
section with the VIDEO_TS dvd content on it.I’ve made them before, they only play on computers but the
cd audio would play in any cd player. -
There is such thing called Dual Disc which is basically a CD on one side and a DVD on the other. https://www.dualdisc.com
