If I’m not mistaken your hooking up a consumer grade unbalanced audio connection (canopus box) to a balanced +3 or +6 box (betasp deck)
Chances are when you go back to tape, the volume will be extremely
low since your going unbalanced to balanced. -
Thanks jeff.
The stations that got the dubs never complained thankfully, and I did notice the cc lines at the top of the picture when I viewed them on my LCD monitor.

I’ve never seen a “no video input” problem here when genlock wasn’t on.
Sure the picture is not straight on and moves down every few seconds, but I never personally had an issue with “no video input” coming up.
Thats why I recommended what I did. 🙂

[Mr.Poindexter] “4K is 4096×2160 and Sony has a working 4K projector, althought the last I heard the only way to feed it was with 4 HD-SDI inputs and each one gets one quadrant of the image so it isn’t exactly ready for prime time.”
If your referring to the SXRD cinema projectors, they’ve been in production for some months now. There’s one installed about 5 miles from my facility.
They actually promote that as a feature (quad screens or unified quad mode)

I’d have to say it is. Field order issues can’t be solved or seen on flat panels.
I am so very depressed every time I see a commercial or some broadcast show that had reversed field order issues.
I also check every DVD I ever make for that as well. Sometimes the fields will reverse because of buggy software (like compressor2 used to do)

I’d like an answer as well. since Multibridge Extreme or was it the new drivers? added closed caption support.
If I capture a cc marked digibeta or betasp, then output back to tape, will the station be able to playback with cc intact on the dubs?
-
I don’t think it is, because I ran my MBE for many days without any genlock input and only realized it was an issue when outputting back to Digital Betacam (for monitoring)
-
How’s the SDI Inputs?
Can you output via analog back to tape?
You might update FCP as well.
I’ve got the same setup. It’s a great piece of hardware.

[Jeff Carpenter] “Try not to get too excited, but there IS something called 4K as well.”
And not to jump the gun or put the horse before the carriage, but 6K
is just around the corner, though that might be considered overkill. Some believe thats the ultimate maximum for film xfer. Others believe
it only slightly looks better than 4k where 4k looks much sharper when compared side by side with 2k. -
I think at this moment if your doing SD and HD you should have both a CRT & some sort of flatscreen. Viewers in the home have both, with flatscreens growing in numbers every year.
But its really important to have a calibrated professional grade CRT and that cannot be emphasized enough. At least until flatscreen quality matures to the point it equals or surpasses crt’s for performance.
