whats the resolution on that 50″ plasma walter?
I’m currently monitoring on a Dell 24″ LCD via blackmagic-designs multibridge extreme with the built in hd-link. It maps 1920×1080 and 720p pixel for pixel, but we are moving in a few months to a much nicer facility and there’s a mount on the wall in the edit room where a plasma once was.

I don’t know why this is an issue, but it is and there is a
quick way to fix it 90% of the time.make a copy of the disc.
making a copy will strip out whatever compatability issue the dvd recorder is putting on the disc.
I’ve done this a few times for the rare occasion someone can’t play the disc.
discs i have were made from the panasonic dmr-e30.

I work with DVD-RAM /panasonic recorders often (for the last 5 years).
If all your seeing is 11 seconds of static, thats all their probably is there.

chrispy you should contact jvc support and make sure your running the latest firmware. It fixes lots of issues the deck had initially and I think its required for it to work properly all the way in FCP 5.1.2

If I’m not mistaken most of the cameras out there will only do 60fps and lower as far as speed changes go.
But you could very well get the results you want shooting at 60fps and using twixtor (one of the best to this day for re-timing)

compare.”I have and I can honestly say the Multibridge extreme hardware is most certainly up to any task regarding downconversion. Same for the Kona.
now the software down conversion is a whole other animal and definitely lacks the quality of the hardware downconverter.
