  • oops haha i think he did.

  • It would have been interesting to see a comparison with the macpro canister too.

  • I do something similar Joel, but when I go to the final edit
with edl notes, I just make a new empty sequence and razor
the in and out point from the “footage” sequence then copy that block of media to the new sequence.

That way you don’t get out of sync when removing portions. you just copy
    the parts to keep.

I usually don’t change drivers unless there is a problem.

The 10.x blackmagic driver I’m running now works with fcp7 and color
    in os x 10.10.4

I’m waiting for that update as well before I plunge in.

CC 2014 worked much better for me when the 2014.1 update was released.

Still on that until 2015 gets updated.

  • to Revert you would need to uninstall 2014.2 completely, then logon to creative cloud
and somewhere in there they give you options to install an older version.

Thats where 2014.1 should be found.

CUDA makes a HUGE difference on the Quadro 4000 cards.

I had to remove one from another workstation for a possible rma and I noticed
some projects needed rendering where they didn’t before with the quadro and cuda enabled.

Rendering in the timeline and exported content that is resized goes much quicker
    as well with CUDA enabled.

    I couldn’t get a 10.9 upgrade either so went with 10.10.4

Both FCP 7 and apple color work just fine with it.

Someone rented the room with it and used it all week, no problems.

[David Roth Weiss] ” forget about “true HD” whatever that means”

I always get annoyed too when I see posts in forums of someone mentioning “TRUE”.

it is or isn’t ha ha.

if they are files (very likely) on a “data” dvd disc yes

  • Jona, I had those same issues with 2014.2

for me here on two different macs it was unuseable so I reverted
to 2014.1 and have not had issues.

The cuda update can be downloaded from Nvidia or updated
in system preferences cuda panel. The video card driver
can be downloaded from Nvidia website.

    I have quadro 4000 card and a GTX 680
