This seems to be the case with Boris as well.

I know this has been a problem for quite some time when exporting to Compressor directly from the FCP timeline. Boris transitions do not render. However, when I export a reference movie and export that to Compressor, the transitions are there. I don’t think it should be any different with a self-contained movie, but try a reference movie instead.

I recently worked on a project like this. I captured it normally, in 4:3 as I usually do, and, of course, it appeared squished on my NTSC monitor, but when I output the result to DVD, it came out letterboxed.

Based on my own experience:
Mac Pro ….No
MacBook or MacBook Pro …. Probably
iPod … Definitely Yes

The DSR-20, the DSR-30 and I think the DSR-11 do not and cannot add set-up on the analog outputs. I once asked a Sony engineer why, and his reply was that on a low-end $3000 deck, we can’t include everything. Go figure…

If you are using iPhoto, I don’t believe the changes you make are applied to the original image. In other words, you need to view the image in iPhoto in order to view the changes. There are other programs that work this way as well. Try Photoshop instead.

Yes. It is now back to the same encoding time as the original version. It should take approximately twice as long as 1-pass on the same machine.

My Panasonic DVD player has a user-selected setting for this, although they call it something different, like “ultra-black” or something like that.
