    CaptM,
    tryd that, no good.
the original size of this footage is 1280×720, the same as my sequence.
I have a feeling its been compressed by the camera in some way to do this.
pretty annoying cause there were some good shots from this angle.
    oh well, thanks anyway

    no not trying to upconvert.
just some shots are actually shot in 1280 x 720, (the main interviews)
and i just thought, seemings though i wanted the final product in 16:9
id just stretch the background footage to fill the same frame. (with a little aspect tweaking so its not to noticeable)
the final product will be SD DVD.

is there a better way i should have gone about it?

    Rafael,
    thanks for the quick reply!
so what your saying is, when i export my final edit as PAL, the few NTSC shots that are in there,
will automatically be converted to PAL, but with a possible loss of quality ie adding frames???
I do care about my movie, but as the deadline is ever so close and need to finish editing so we can do the soundmix, i dont mind loosing a little quality on a few shots, (as long as the audio stays in sync during output).
hopefully i have time to convert the files individually with compressor before that!
whats the best settings for converting SD NTSC to PAL in compressor?

    cheers
