    Agreed! It’s kind of difficult to give your boss tips… 🙁 I did forward him a link to Ken Stone’s site on properly shooting green screens. Ouch.

    Ok, once again nevermind. I had a garbage matte on both layers instead of just the bottom layer. Sorry for posting before thinking!

    Thanks for the advice everyone. While the 8 point garbage matte seems to be the solution, I am getting a “shadow” effect on one of the layers. Basically where the 2 edges of the layers meet there’s a gray shadow. I’m still having issues uploading a photo. Grr.

    I think I just solved my own problem. 2 layers and a garbage matte.

  • I also have created a text animation template in Motion, and when using the template in FCP, the render time is outrageous. The animation seems simple enough… 6 layers of text that circle around a logo. The render time for a 4:30 video is something like 10 hours of render time! Why does it take so long, and can it be cut down?
