March 18, 2020 at 3:18 pm in reply to: How’s business right now? (Also, what and where?) And how are YOU doing?I have been working from a room at home for 2 decades this year, when I am free, I also freelance for events as video operator or power-point operator here in Singapore.
Just before this virus hit, a fellow friend recommended me to news editing which I do on an ad hoc basis. As you can imagine, I am busier than ever. The event work has virtually stop here in Singapore, many freelancer are out of work and I heard production people are hard hit as well.
I also have project lined up till August and will be very busy till then. Decision to work from home 20years ago to save on transportation and sleep longer before walking a few steps to work has paid off.
When I am free, I go shooting some B-roll and hope I can sell them to news outlet. Finger cross.

January 20, 2014 at 8:39 am in reply to: Decklink HD Extreme, Desktop Video and FCPX – Monitor TroublesFor this card, i think the last version BMD include any working driver is 9.5.3. After that, they had said somewhere they are no longer writing any driver for it.
Any new software such as Premiere Pro CC, Resolve 10, FCP X 10.1 can’t use the card at all.
Even the same driver use in Mavericks, FCP 7 output via SDI got lipsync problem.
Sigh….

Sorry, maybe I used the wrong word. It is not “bypass” but “Pass Thru”. So that the audio is exported but without any processes, only the video is converted to some other format.
A function so important, I had to continue using Compressor.
And for that matter, how about Built-in Timecode (BITC) by reading from the timecode track of a MOV file.

I used Quicktime 7, open that particular file, export it again as a same WAV file and then it can be open with Wave Agent for changing for frame rates.
Must be something corrupted somewhere in the recording.

Yes! I tried one WAV file, imported it in, change the frame rate and save it and it synced perfectly without drifting! Thanks for the solution!
On a side note, one of the WAVE file can’t be imported at all.
Thanks a lot for this solution again!! Cheers!

Thanks for the piece of information. Learn something new today, and yes, I think they recorded wild with no external sync to anything.
I am using FCP 7 to sync the visual and audio. So far it ain’t working at whatever I throw at in.
Lucky for me, only certain part of the visual requires matching, the rest can be cutaways, so I’ll just have to manually sync 2-3 secs of visual that were used.
