Instead of creating a new project, have you tried just transferring the project over and opening it? You may need to have the old project folder that contains all the bin info to relink to.

Hey! You’ve hit upon one of my pet peeves! It seems to me that having something far more interesting than the credits running simultaneously as the credits defeats the whole purpose of running the credits. You can’t watch the visuals and read the credits at the same time, so why run the credits at all if nobody cares enough about reading them in the first place to stick around to watch them? If you put visuals, it’s not to make people watch the credits, it’s to get them to stay tuned and not leave. I am a fan of running the credits over black or some non-distracting background in order to give “credit” where credit is due. And don’t roll them so fast that even Evilyn Wood couldn’t read them, and squeeze them into a tiny corner to boot. It’s insulting to me as one of those names. If you can’t read it, why bother to even put it on? Am I crazy?
That being said, sure, figure out a clever way to alternate between something “interesting” and the “readable” credits to keep people there so that they actually do wind up reading them, I’m all for that. But don’t have them compete!

And I just came back from a troubleshooting class and they told me about the MCstate but did I think of that? Nooooooooo!

OK,pay close attention to this answer because next to rebooting, it probably is the answer to many a problem and strange occurances on your avid. Trash your MCstate. This is part of your settings for your avid. If it gets corrupt it causes problems so just trash it and the avid will create a new one when you boot up.
On your desktop, open your c: drive, open your program files,open your avid file,open your Xpress Pro file (that is what you have, right? I forget), open your settings file and you should find your MCstate there.

If this is any help, in addition to the rendering issue, none of my realtime effects are visible unless I’m in play. When I stop on them, they are not visible. I know these issues are all related but I don’t know how or why.

That is so interesting that you are having this problem and posting it now because I have just encountered the very same problem on my Xpress Pro (no Mojo). My titles were all there as they normally should be and always have been and then one recently they would not display. Just black in the timeline and in the source monitor. I’d open it up in effects mode and there it would be, and then I’d render it and be able to see it in the in the source monitor and in the timeline. I can only create video in DV25 so it can’t be a wrong resolution issue. I too am at a loss to explain this.

I have been a video editor for over 25 years. I worked in linear video and then non-linear video. Film was film. But now, “films” are being shot and edited on video, even if they sometimes finish on film. If you edit a feature “film” like this, are you a “film” editor? Film meaning a feature? Or are you a feature editor, but still not a film editor?

Avid is still the broadcast industry standard, so I would say yes. That being said, is it absolutely necessary, no. Right now it seems like more entry level and low paying corp. & indie films and music videos are being cut on FCP, whereas higher level broadcast jobs are on Avid.

Yes, I believe a Mojo is a Mojo is Mojo, works on PC or Mac, as does the dongle
