media relinking help
I need some assistance with relinking media. I am working on a project on Xpress Pro 4.3.5, WinXP. The project was created on an Adrenaline, then the media and project folders were transferred to my portable drive. I hooked up the drive via USB2 to my computer, created a new project in Avid, and opened up the bins containing the sequences and footage into the new project. All the media was offline, and I tried to relink, but no luck. The dialogue box said that no files were relinked. I selected all drives for the media search, and tried all the different options. Am I missing something here?

I don’t think your USB drive is going to be fast enough to use as a media drive – that could be your first problem. Are the media files in a folder called ‘OMF Files’?

Instead of creating a new project, have you tried just transferring the project over and opening it? You may need to have the old project folder that contains all the bin info to relink to.

Thanks for the help! The problem was indeed the mislabelled OMFI folder.
