I have to agree with Brett here and say Adobe’s the way to go. Although Avid and FCP and other products have a lot to offer – Adobe’s name goes a long way. All of their products are detailed and consistently innovating which each new release.

Good point, I don’t like the polarizing issue of Microsoft vs Apple either. As someone who has used both products extensively, I prefer Adobe Premiere Pro.

So I don’t use the products for professional use but I do like to get as much functionality out of the products as possible – especially if I’m paying a decent amount of money for them. I really like the functionality Premiere Pro offers. Their playback feature is also really great, much better than FCP. (Here’s a short but useful comparison on the playbacks of both platforms – https://getcomparisons.com/final-cut-pro-x-vs-adobe-premiere-pro#review-4661 ). One of the main reasons I loved Premiere though was after you get over the initial hump of learning the product, it’s functionality reveals itself because it’s a very intuitive product.

I personally love Premiere for multiple reasons including: Fast playback, detecting pitch in playback, ease of use when it comes to splitting and using the timeline to add/remove clips, and producing.

Honestly, production has been one of the hardest parts of using FCP – it doesn’t easily allow you to product in various formats. Premiere makes it really easy and with just a little research it’s clear everything you’re looking for is right in front of you.

  • I used to have both for my computer but then took off FCP – it just slowed down my computer and I didn’t use it as much as Adobe Premiere Pro.

Paddy I have to agree with you, rising pitch and various other benefits of the playback on the Premiere Pro is a reason I like it over FCP.

This guy had the same views too, although he’s comparing it to FCP X – https://getcomparisons.com/final-cut-pro-x-vs-adobe-premiere-pro#review-4661
